Fit Help

The Fitness, Healthy Eating, & Lifestyle Program (Fit Help) is a student based program designed to provide integrated psychological, nutritional and fitness services to students. The overall goal is to help students develop a Personal Health Plan that will guide them to healthier living. The Personal Health Plan puts you (the student) in charge of actively reducing your risk factors for disease and encourages you to take steps necessary to improve your health and fitness levels; subsequently increasing your energy, strength, and overall well-being.
The Fit Help offers the expertise of:
  • An Exercise Physiologist who will assist students in achieving their fitness goals.
  • A Health Psychologist trained in the treatment of eating disorders, health psychology, biofeedback and stress reduction.
  • A Clinical Nutritionist thoroughly trained in the principles of nutrition, dietary needs and weight control will provide nutritional counseling.
  • A Health Education Assistant who will work collaboratively with other members of the team to advance the health of students through educational presentations, outreach programs, and working directly with students individually and in small groups.
The program is medically supervised and provides a wide range of services that will address concerns ranging from eating disorders, sedentary lifestyles, physical performance, weight loss and obesity. Students will have the opportunity to work with professionals to maximize their physical fitness, learn health eating habits, and develop a positive body image.

The Student Health Center offers the Fit Help to enrolled students at no cost being funded through your mandatory health fee. The program is located at the Student Health Connection in the University Union. The Fit Help offers walk-in visits for initial assessments and appointments as needed. Appointments can be made at the Student Health Connection or at the main Student Health Center. For more information regarding appointments call (916) 278-WELL.
