Break (Interval) Pay

  • If you do not enroll in summer school, you will not receive any pay. If you enroll in sessions A, C, and/or D, you will receive break pay for the interval between the spring semester and summer session A, C, or D, based on your enrollment certification from the spring semester. You will not receive break pay between the Spring 2005 semester and summer session B.
  • You will receive break pay between the summer session B/C/D and the first day of the fall term based on your enrollment certification from that summer session term. You will not receive break pay between summer session A and the first day of the Fall term because the break is longer than the length of the term, per VA Policy.

Community College Enrollment Certifications

In order to receive pay for courses taken at a community college, you will need to submit the following information:

  1. Indicate the course(s) on the Veteran Information Card, including which specific Sacramento State requirement you want to meet (Course(s) must meet Sacramento State requirements to be approved for certification).
  2. Provide a copy of your confirmation of enrollment in that course (web print out is fine).

The Sacramento State VA Office will then send the VA office of that community college a Parent School letter, which authorizes that office to submit an enrollment certification for the course(s).

Pay: During the dates when the community college and Sacramento State courses overlap (if you are taking courses at both colleges), you will receive pay according to the combined training times. During the dates when the courses do not overlap, your training time and pay will be adjusted accordingly by the VA.

Note: If you have been accepted for the first time for the Fall 2005 term, you must pay your fees and register for the Fall 2005 term before an enrollment certification can be processed for summer session courses through the Sac State VA Office.
