Transfer Admission Requirements
Admission Deadlines
  • Undergraduate Application Filing Deadlines

      • Open August 1, 2009
  • Admitted students for Fall 2009 - All documents i.e. transcripts, test scores, etc. must be submitted to Sac State Admissions office by the document deadline of July 17, 2009.

Lower division transfer requirements:

You will qualify as a lower division transfer student if you:

Upper division transfer requirements:

You will qualify as a upper division transfer student if you:
  • Complete a minimum of 60 transferable semester or 90 quarter units
  • Have at least a 2.0 GPA as a California resident or 2.4 GPA as a non-resident
  • Be in good standing at the last college or university attended
  • Complete 30 units which meet CSU general education requirements with a "C-" or better. These units must include the following courses:
    1. (A1) Oral Communication/Speech
    2. (A2) Written English Composition (ENGL 1A at Sacramento State)
    3. (A3) Critical Thinking/Logic **
    4. (B4) Math/Quantitative Reasoning (which is above the level of intermediate algebra)

IMPORTANT NOTE: Summer may NOT be used to complete admissions requirements for Fall Admission i.e. gpa, total units, Areas A and B4. All requirements must be met by the end of the Spring semester.

Fall may NOT be used to complete admissions requirements for Spring Admissions i.e. gpa, total units, Areas A and B4. All requirements must be met by the end or the summer session.

** Transfer students applying for admission to Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering do not need the Critical Thinking course because it is incorporated into the major requirements.
