Lower division transfer requirements:
You will qualify as a lower division transfer student if you:- Have completed fewer than 60 transferable semester or 90 quarter units
- Have at least a 2.0 GPA as a California resident or 2.4 GPA as a non-resident
- Be in good standing at the last college or university attended
- Have met the admission requirements for first-time freshmen
- Must take the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT I) of the College Board or the American College Test (ACT), unless exempt (see Eligibility Index)

Complete the following courses:
- (A2) Written English Composition (ENGL 1A at Sacramento State)
- (B4) Math/Quantitative Reasoning (which is above the level of intermediate algebra)
Upper division transfer requirements:
You will qualify as a upper division transfer student if you:- Complete a minimum of 60 transferable semester or 90 quarter units
- Have at least a 2.0 GPA as a California resident or 2.4 GPA as a non-resident
- Be in good standing at the last college or university attended

Complete 30 units which meet CSU general education requirements with a "C-" or better.
These units must include the following courses:
- (A1) Oral Communication/Speech
- (A2) Written English Composition (ENGL 1A at Sacramento State)
- (A3) Critical Thinking/Logic **
- (B4) Math/Quantitative Reasoning (which is above the level of intermediate algebra)
IMPORTANT NOTE: Summer may NOT be used to complete admissions requirements for Fall Admission i.e. gpa, total units, Areas A and B4. All requirements must be met by the end of the Spring semester.
** Transfer students applying for admission to Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering do not need the Critical Thinking course because it is incorporated into the major requirements.
